These 6 weeks promise to be a fun and engaging time, and I know that, by the end of it, we shall all be able to take something away from the experience. I’ll see you there! Carter Burgess
The Connection Tutoring Center is excited to present a new addition to our summer program – chess! This fun 6 week program has 12 intensive sessions that will teach your child the basics of chess, as well as additional tactics and strategies that will have them playing like a pro in no time!
Goals of the Program
To provide students with the tools to analyze any position without being at a loss with regards as to what should be done
To improve mental calculations (being able to look 3-4- 5 moves ahead in a position without moving pieces)
Enthusiasm for Chess
To foster enthusiasm for the chess scene in Memphis
Annual Analytical Skill Growth
There are numerous benefits to learning how to play chess, but don’t just take it from us. One study found that students who actively play chess have an average 12.7% increase in analytical skills growth compared to those who don’t.
